Hello 2009!

So, 2009 is here. People went crazy over New Year's last night. I have to admit, going and celebrating in New York Times Square does seem pretty exciting, and somewhat tempting. But then I think of the cost, the crowds, the stress of getting there and getting situated, and I have to say forget it! I'd much rather watch the ball drop from the comfort of my own home.

Best and worst movies of 2008

Yesterday night my husband and I found a babysitter, then went out to dinner and to the movies. We saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was long, but it was a very good movie. It was also an emotional-stirring type of movie. My husband looked teary-eyed near the end of the movie, and I have to admit, the very ending (I won't go into details, for those that haven't seen the movie) got the best of me, too.

Then today I found a list of the best and worst movies of 2008. I wasn't surprised to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button listed. But I was surprised that Twilight wasn't mentioned. Considering that people seem to have a love/hate relationship with all things Twilight, you would think that there would be some mention of it!

Football is in the House!

If there was one thing that a guy could want is maybe sports gear or NFL apparel for the holidays? I know that is what is wanted in the house full of men that I live in. It's okay I like having the guys around and all the sports activities to be involved in. It's always a whirlwind of football parties to host and, talk about. That's when I decided to give all the guys new NFL jerseys this Christmas. I have actually listened to them talk so much about what team is the best, what player has the most yards, and touchdowns, that I know exactly which ones to pick out by player's name! I even know what is actually happening on the field during playtime! If your around something long enough, you know your going to learn something about it right! I think they are really going to like what I picked out! I may even pick out a football jersey for myself this year! Woo hoo!

What I've learned about shopping for baby stuff

So here's one thing I've learned about baby clothes: even in the same brand, sizes can vary. The exception is Circo, which is a brand of baby clothing and toddler clothing that Target carries. Most of what my four year old and two year old wear is Circo, and whether it's pants, shirts, undershirts or socks, the sizes are always consistent.

Generally speaking, better brands of baby clothes will run true to size. More importantly, they are made of high quality materials, so they will last.
